※ All components, devices, and protective equipment mounted or used in an automobile are subjected but consistent expansion focused on international standards applied components directly related to safety is planned (Requires negotiation with relevant departments)
Component Self-Certification Procedure
- Component manufacturer/assembler/importer: Registration request for component manufacturer, etc. (Manufacturer, etc. → Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport)
- Required documents: Application, plan, test facility procurement statement or usage agreement (For usage agreement, only facilities announced by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport are allowed)
- Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport: Issue registration to manufacturer, etc. (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport → Manufacturer, etc.)
- Issued after confirming test facility procurement, etc. (About 15 days)
- ※ Site inspection by performance test agency if required
- Performance test agency (Korea Automobile Testing & Research Institute): Check test facility, collect information on manufacturing defect, investigate manufacturing defect, etc.
- Execute site inspection and such according to instruction from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport
